Virtual schools 2020

We have created this page in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic and the need for large swathes of schools all over the world closing their physical doors and going online. We are all full time teachers who are doing the same thing and using a lot of the resources on this site to help us. This part of the site is just here to share some of the things we are doing, resources and tools we are using and to share our experiences. Please note that our site, although subscription based by design, is being made freely available during this crisis. We hoppe we are able to help teachers during this challening time as we know we will rely on others. Here is to making our virtual schools as successful as possisble!

A note from the authors

We are the mathematics department at the International School of Toulouse. There are 3 of us and we teach all the secondary mathematics from ages 11 - 18. We teach our own curriculum from 11-14, then IGCSE from 14 - 16 and the IB diploma from 16-18. We feel pretty lucky to have been doing this together here since 2006. There is a big intersection between our characters, experience and philosophy, but we are not without our signficant differences which we have always felt has worked for us as a team. We have been actively engaged in resource authoring, curriculum design and face to face workshops for teachers around Europe and beyond for the last 10 years. This website was born of our partnership and occupied a lot of our time for many years. In recent years we have been working on a number of other projects with a focus on the International Baccaleaureate, but using this site a staple of our day to day (as we know others have too). We closed our physical doors to students from Monday 16th March as France went in to social distancing lockdown. This week has reminded us that there is much to share that could be useful to teachers on this website. As we rely on other sources, we hope to offer help as well. We are acutely aware that teachers in other parts of the world have been doing this for weeks and that many have been involved in online education for a long time. We are not claiming any expertise here...... just keen to play our part in sharing experience, ideas and resources. Good luck everyone!
