Questions & Answers from 2015 Competition

Brief Overview

We will follow the successful model of previous schools who have run this competition.

  • Registration costs 125€ for every attending student and teacher
  • Teams Arrive on Friday 27th March
  • Competition takes place on the mornings of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March
  • Teams and teachers depart on Sunday evening
  • All students will be hosted with families from the IST
  • Coaches will book their accommodation in the coaches hotel - details to follow (We estimate about 100€ a night)

Like other schools before us, we are relying on a major team effort and different members of our community have graciously agreed to look after different parts of the organisation. Contact details for all of these people will appear here when required. In order to keep a handle on the significant correspondence required, please consult this list before you send a question to make sure you are asking the right person. We have also set up a facebook event for the competition and we ask that you use this for asking general questions so that everyone may benefit from the answer. We will also post updates and information to this event. Please follow the link and ask for an invitation. Thank you!

Getting around

A plan of Toulouse's tram (one line, perhaps two by March 2015) and metro are available here.

Metro Tarifs are available here.

You can also hire bicycles, using your credit card, at the exit of most metro stations (or nearby) and at a number of other places in town. If your journey lasts 30 minutes or less (come the time you replace the bicycle at your destination) the bicycles are FREE. It's also a great way to visit the town (provided you have a map, available from the hotel reception, to guide you!).

Vélô Toulouse Tarifs here. Plan of available bicycle stations here. There is one next to the metro station Compans Cafarelli by the hotel and another, a similar distance at 47 Boulevard LASCROSSES.

Worth Noting...

Treasure Hunt

Our plan is that teams will be met at the airport or train station and taken to the coaches hotel in the centre of Town. Then our staff have created a Toulouse treasure hunt to give you an chance to have a good look around. You will need to be back at the coaches hotel at around 16.00 to be bused to the school, so if you want to have time to do this treasure hunt, it might be worth bearing in mind when you book your travel.

Evenings for teachers

Friday - This will be the traditional Coaches Dinner which will be held at the Coaches hotel. This is covered in the registration fees.

Saturday - Two of our staff have volunteered to organise a good night out for visiting teachers on Saturday 28th March. It will start with a choice, between a running, cycling or walking (+metro) tour of Toulouse followed by a meal all together and maybe some music/dancing afterwards. Costs for this will be kept low, but are not included. Details will follow....
